Sooji Ka Halwa

Sooji Ka Halwa
Hi friends. Today, I am going to post the recipe of "Sooji ka Halwa". It is a regular dish cooked in India specially during festive season. Most of the time sooji is gets roasted before cooking sooji ka halwa, but in this recipe halwa is cooked without the need of sooji to be roasted.

Ingredients
  • Sooji                                        1 bowl
  • Sugar                                       1 bowl
  • Ghee                                        3-4 tablespoon
  • Milk                                        2 bowl
  • Kaju                                        1 tablespoon
  • Kismis                                    1 tablespoon
  • Elaichi Powder                       2 pinch

Method of preparation

Take sooji in a bowl. This sooji is not fried. There is no need to fry it.

Add milk in the bowl

Add dry fruits and keep it aside for 20 minutes

Take ghee (butter) in a heated pan.

When the ghee gets heated, add enough sugar and stir it regularly.

Now when the sugar melts and its color turns brown, add sooji in the pan that was kept aside.

Mix the sugar and sooji properly and stir regularly otherwise it will start sticking with the pan.

Now cook the mixture for 5 minutes. When mixture stops stickiness, add the Elaichi powder and mix it well with halwa.

Now, sooji ka halwa is ready to serve. Take it in a bowl or plate.

Garnish it with Kaju and serve it.
