Delicious Beetroot (Chukandar) Halwa Recipe


Beetroot Halwa Recipe
Welcome to Jyoti's Kitchen. In India, Carrot halwa is more preferred than any other halwa. It is very common. But beetroot is very nutritious and healthy. Doctor always prescribe to have beetroot in our everyday dishes. But most of the people do like it to have. It is very beneficial for the kids but they don't like it.

It contains potassium, magnesium, iron, vitamin A, B6 and C, folic acid, carbohydrates, protein, antioxidants and soluble fibre.There are many surprising advantages of having beetroot for skin, hair and health as follows:

So, today I am going to post a very delicious item "Beetroot Halwa" made up of beetroot. After its preparation, its seems just like carrot halwa. So, kids will never say no, to have it.

Ingredients


  • Beetroot (Chukandar)              5-6 peeled
  • Sugar                                      2 tablespoon
  • Cream Milk                              2 Cups
  • Khoya (Cream)                        1/2 Cup
  • Kismis (Currant)                      1 tablespoon
  • Kaju (Cashewnut)                    1 tablespoon
  • Elaichi (Cardamom)                 3-4 pieces (crushed)
  • Ghee                                      1-2 tablespoon
  • Almond (Badam)                     5-6 pieces









Direction of cooking


Take 5-6 beetroot and wash it properly. Then get them peeled and grated.




Take 1-2 tablespoon ghee in a pan.




Then add peeled and grated beetroot.



Then fry it for some time until it start getting change in color.




Now add ghee and fry for some time.



Then add milk in the pan and stir the mixture.




Milk starts reducing and the mixture starts becoming thicker, add kismiss, cashewnut and sugar in the mixture.








Keep stirring the mixture in regular intervals.



When the milk disappear completely, add crushed elaichi powder.








Now, your beetroot halwa is ready to serve. Take it out in a serving bowl. Use cashewnut and almond to garnish it as you like.





You can have it cool or warm, as you like. You can keep it in freeze to get it chilled if like to eat chilled.
